Boys Update!

I got a letter a week or so ago & Noah did not get into the school of our choice. Although I was really upset over it at first, I'm ok with it now. He will go to the second best elementary (in our town) and it will be perfectly fine. I can save the $500 that was supposed to go to the other school. I cannot believe my Noah boy is already going into kindergarten! I know everyone says it, but time really flies! It seems like yesterday I was holding a tiny Noah baby in my arms and now he's a big boy. He weighs 50lbs now and he's about 48 inches tall!! My big boy. He just started sleeping in his own bed. Finally. We've been co-sleeping since day one and it has been challenging to say the least. Noah was never the type of baby that you could just leave in his crib. He would scream for hours and even vomit and turn blue because of it. I had to have him sleep with us or else. We should have had him in his bed a long time ago but he would always beg to stay in our bed and would start to cry. I don't like tears. Last night was his first night sleeping in his own bed and he did great. He was actually excited about it! Caleb was excited, too! He said it was the first time in five years that he's gotten to snuggle up against me. Bless his heart. I am not use to sleeping next to Caleb so I didn't sleep good at all. Caleb is like an inferno and I was sweating all night long and I figure it'll take a while to get use to him again. Sounds horrible, I know. I'm thankful Toby will sleep anywhere we put him. So now my husband has his wife back. I don't know why I feel so guilty though. Noah doesn't seem to mind and he's 5.5 yrs old for crying out loud! I just need to keep reminding myself of those things. Noah is so incredibly smart and can figure anything out. We can't get much past him without him knowing exactly what we're saying or doing. He can count to almost 100 without help and loves to sit while I read to him. He's very hyper but will sit still and let me read as many books as he has without even moving. I'm so proud of him. I love him more than words could ever express and those big blue eyes just make my heart melt. He's only lost his two bottom teeth but he's hoping to lose more soon..only because he wants money from the tooth fairy. He's all about saving money and when the time comes, he knows exactly how he's going to spend it. He is really hoping his new big boy teeth come in silver....

Toby is a little over 20lbs and he's such a sweet and laid back baby. He hardly ever cries and he still sleeps through the night. Every now and then he'll wake up and be grunting. I'll either give him his passy or go ahead and feed him. He normally only takes a couple of ounces and he's right back to sleep. He has seven teeth. Four on top and three on bottom and I never even knew he was teething. He's such a happy baby! He isn't crawling yet but he will get up on his hands and knees and rock..then sit back down and continue playing. He doesn't really have the drive to crawl or I think he would be. He would rather sit back and watch his big brother. He will stand and hold onto things but he hasn't taken any steps yet and he will not stand without holding onto something. He says uh-oh, mama, dada, Oah (Noah) and he's only said that a few times. He signs for milk when he wants it and will wave and say bye bye...but only when he wants to, never when I want him to. He smiles constantly and you can see it in his eyes. I also love him more than words could ever express.

A few people I know are expecting and it really does give me the fever. I honestly would get pregnant right now if I knew it was the "right" thing to do. I almost wish it would just happen so I wouldn't have to worry about planning it. I have been on the pill since I've had Toby so I doubt it will "just happen" lol, unless I miss some pills! I always forget to take them so maybe it will. I'd probably panic if I did get pregnant because of the whole c-section thing. I am still not over that. I will never understand why things could not have gone smoother during delivery with Noah. Makes me sad. I labored 12-14 hrs with no pain meds..nothing. .trying to have a drug-free/natural delivery. Noah's heartrate was starting to drop so a c-section was a must. I don't regret it because Noah was born healthy and happy, thank God!! I just know c-sections can be dangerous and they're not easy to recover from. I actually recovered alot faster after Toby & was able to walk around Home Depot just a few days after Toby was born. It took me weeks after Noah. Of course I had pneumonia, too. Ugh. I just want to make sure it will be ok for me and baby if I decide to get pregnant again. It bothers me that I have to get permission (not really, but feels that way) from my doctor. Buuut, I would love to have a daughter. A little Natalie Rose. LOL. If God has other plans then I guess we'll be studying boy names again :) As long as our babies are healthy!

Exhausted

Woke Noah up on Thursday morning to get him ready for school and he was extremely tired. I figured it was because it took him forever to get to sleep the night before and too he's had a small cough. Got him to school and he started crying. Not something he had done all week - matter of fact, he was excited to go to school. So I stayed for a while and he was still teary eyed. The teacher was talking to him, he sat in her lap, and he seemed to be ok. I left...with tears in my eyes and feeling like I was abandoning my precious little boy. I got home within 15 minutes and called to check up on him. Teacher said he was participating in the group activity but he was still acting upset. I told her I would come get him but she told me to give it 3o minutes, just to see if he would calm down. 10 minutes later she was calling because he was throwing up. My poor baby! I rush to the school (feeling like such a bad mom for leaving him in the first place) and the lady at the desk said "little Noah told his teacher to take him home & the teacher told him she didn't know where he lived..he said to take him to Bonds Road". Teacher said she didn't know where that was and to just wait because I was on my way and he said "come on and I'll show you". My poor little guy!! I picked him up and gave him tons of love all afternoon. He started running a pretty high fever so my mom and I took him to the dr last night. He has pharyngitis and is on antibiotics for the next 10 days. His little throat is hurting and he hasn't eaten anything all day, but he is drinking plenty of fluids. Last night his fever got up over 103 and I gave him a luke warm bath and was alternating Tylenol and Motrin for fever. Around 2 a.m. he woke up throwing up all over our bed, my pillow, and himself...it was just aweful. I stripped the bed and washed him off, changed his clothes and we moved to the couch. Caleb walked through the door from work right about that time so he was able to help re-make the bed and get us situated. Noah's fever finally broke around 3 and I finally went to sleep somewhere after 4 a.m. I had a dr appt this morning at 10:30 and was there til after 12. All he did was check the heartbeat, my weight/bp, and urine. What a waste of a visit and my gas! I wasn't even checked! I did lose 6 lbs..which excited me. lol. I've gained a total of 15 lbs. Not bad.

I'm just so exhausted today. I've been hateful to Caleb and I have no patience when it comes to my phone ringing. I don't even want to talk today. Ugh, I hate feeling like this. Noah is feeling a little better - still no fever! yay. Hopefully he'll get well this weekend and can start school back on Monday. I don't want him to get out of this routine because it has been working so nicely. Of course if he's sick, he's staying home with me no matter what -- I just don't want him to think he can get out of school just because he's tired, doesn't want to go, etc. I'm really hoping to get better sleep tonight, I feel like a complete zombie. I'm crampy, feeling tons of pressure, and it feels like my vagina is about to explode.

I think I'm crazy

I was having contractions that were pretty painful, but irregular. Those have since died down but I'm still feeling menstrual-like cramps all day, everyday. I feel so much pressure "down there" and it's so uncomfortable. I've also been having sharp little pains down there, too. The baby is definitely head down and when he decides to move & I feel him on the outside - its waaay low. Honestly, there is movement where my c-section scar (and its way low) is. I can imagine him just falling out any minute - its that bad. I can't wait for my dr appt on Friday, I want to know whats up. This isn't normal and somethings up. Will update after my appt on Friday!

By the way, I woke up in the middle of the night singing kid songs. My mind obviously thinks I need to entertain my children while we're all sleeping...I'm nuts. I put odd things in the fridge when they shouldn't be there to begin with, I tried putting Bo's (cousin) bottle nipple on the milk jug instead of back on his bottle. I just want to be normal again. LOL

ScHoOl Is CoOl !

Noah absolutely loves pre-school! This is his third day. He wakes up every morning in a good mood (surprisingly) and he's ready to start his new day with his new little friends. I'm so happy for him. Happy that he got into a really great school, happy he gets to learn alot of cool new things, and happy he gets to make TONS of new little friends that are exactly his age. He needs this so much. He loves it when they dance and listen to music - and when the music says freeze...he freezes! I think that's his favorite thing so far. He did have to sit next to the teacher at story time on his first day, he wouldn't sit still when she asked him to. He was not the only one...its a new process! Yesterday he did great and didn't have to sit with the teacher during story time, he sat through it and listened. YAY! Also, he is not a napper. They have to lay on their mats for one solid hour with the lights out. They do not have to sleep, just lie still. Big issue with him on the first day. He didn't get in trouble, but he didn't want to lay down either. Yesterday, however, he laid on his mat until the lights came on he said. I took him a blanket (required) and it has silk on the outside edges - and I think that helps. If I haven't ever mentioned it before, he loves silk. He has to sleep with some type of silk gown/material every night..he calls it his "beet beet". Not sure where he got that term, but that's what he's called silk since he was a little tiny boy. I think its cute and I refuse to take his security away from him. He's only little for a short period of time :) I love him sooo much and I'm so proud of him. He lights up my life in a million and one ways and I am so very blessed and thankful that God gave him to me.

In other news, NOAH'S BROTHER WILL BE HERE SOON!!

36 Week Appt

Everything went really well. Baby is head down (doesn't matter anyway since I'm having a c-section) and he is weighing exactly 6 lbs. My bp was great, weight gain sucked (MOO), and I had the Group B Strep test done today. Also, today was my first internal exam and I am almost 2 cm dilated. I mentioned about the contractions I've been having lately and I was told it was just my bodys way of getting ready. Boo on the whole c-section thing. Anyway, the baby still isn't a mover but his heartrate was fine. I was told to come home and eat a good meal and do a kick count. I'm suppose to feel 10 kicks in two hrs. LOL, yeah right! I don't even feel 10 kicks in one day. They'll admit me into L&D if I don't feel 10 kicks...so I'm going to start counting - if he'll start moving. I don't know if I should be concerned or not, they act like they aren't concerned at the dr's office. Maybe he'll just be a laid back baby. I hope so - especially since my 4 1/2 yr old still bounces off the walls :)

Uncomfy

I'm having more and more Braxton Hicks these days and they're beginning to be more uncomfortable. Yesterday it was so strong that I had to lay down with a heating pad & take two Tylenol. I'll mention it to my dr on Friday, just to see what he says. I'm not sure if I'll be checked at this visit or not - I think it may just be the Group B Strep testing. My cousin had her baby boy the other day! His name is Reece & he weighed 7lbs 11oz! He's such a little cutie, too. She didn't labor long and with three pushes - he was born! Lucky girl! He was born on my original due date 8-9-10 (I miscarried in early December). While I was visiting her and the baby, I spoke to some nurses there and they were very nice & made me feel more secure about the whole c-section/being taken care of issue. I will always have anxiety over it, I know...but maybe I can be less freaked out on the day of. If not, they'll have to give me a nerve pill!!

Such a Chore..

This baby will be here in 20something days and I would really love it if I could reach my stupid toes so I can actually make them look sort of ok. Just can't do it anymore. I need a pedicure and I'm guessing I need a professional one. I would probably end up painting my toes, foot, and ankles if I even tried. If I get a pedicure before baby arrives, it would cost me around $25-30. They best not tell me before the c-section that I have to remove my polish or they'll owe me some money honey. Normally before surgery all polish has to go, which really sucks because I normally keep my toes painted pink/red ALL year long...then when I take the polish off they're all stained up and they look, sorta trailer parkish. Know what I mean? It's just gross.

Today - So Far So Good!

For the past three day's I've had horrible cramping in my lower abdomen around to my lower back. It alarmed me at first but when it didn't intensify, I figured it's just Braxton Hicks. Normally when I have B.H. they're not uncomfortable, not like this. I have not called my doctor because I don't want to lay up in L&D all day for them to tell me I'm having fake contractions. Oh, did I ever mention in my Memphis blog about me spotting? Well, I did. Only once. I'm an aweful patient because I didn't call my dr about that either! Anyway, labor with Noah was 100% back labor. It was aweful and intense and felt horrible. What I've been experiencing feels like back labor (and stomach), but I'm able to tolerate it. I'll probably mention this at my next appointment and see what the doc says. I've sat around and kept my feet up all day today and so far I haven't felt much. Hopefully I won't.

So Confused..

I'm 30 days away from meeting my precious little bundle of joy. We've been calling him Landon & my hubby and I both love this name...but it doesn't do it for me. Everytime I say the name I feel like I'm talking about someone else's baby. So, I've found another name that I am really diggin'. I'm afraid to spill the beans because I'm not certain about it - I'm SO confused! baaaaaaah! 30 DAYS.

34 weeks!

My appointment went well today. BP was normal and I've gained 2 lbs since my last appt. I almost started moo'ing, no joke...I am feeling less and less like myself lately & I honestly think I'm getting down in the dumps about having to have a c-section. I'm just praying all goes well and me & baby are healthy. Anyway, not much longer now & Noah will have a brother!!! I can't wait to meet him, kiss all over his sweet baby face, & love him to bits!

Went to the Specialist

Good news first: I seen the dr, got an u/s...and finally got a really cute u/s pic. Landon is perfect in every way and I am very thankful! His heartrate was 153 bpm & he's just so darn cute.

Bad news? I have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day. Yuck! Thats almost 30 sticks per week..and I BARELY failed the 3-hr. I'm not on insulin and I only have to add more protein to my diet. Seriously, 4 times daily seems a little steep to me. I've checked it several times and its been on the low side - never high. Ugh, oh well. I have to report (by email) to the specialists office once a week, on Tuesdays, and give them a log of my blood sugar levels. Annoying! Soo, here's a pic of my sweet little Landon Love!

Landon weighs 4.5 lbs :))

Going to the Specialist tomorrow..

Since I failed my 3-hr gestational diabetes test, I'm forced to see a specialist. I only failed by a few points so I'm guessing I'll be put on a diet. Come to mama, sugar free candy! It's all good in the hood, as long as we are healthy thats all that matters. I go tomorrow morning & I'm hoping for another u/s!

Intelligender...what?

My grandmother has thought from day one that I'm expecting a girl - u/s results have shown boy. She still doesn't believe it, so she goes out and buys an Intelligender test. I roll my eyes, tell her it'll show a "Boy" results because hello, I'm having a BOY in September! Umm, I woke up and peed..did the test...and got a GIRL result at 32 weeks preggo. Ok, I know these things are only 85-90% accurate..but now my grandmother will totally think she's right.  These tests are clearly not as accurate as they state - unless my little boy's penis has turned into a vajayjay! I haven't told Nanny yet - she'll be jumping for joy and buying pink. LANDON is his name :)

31 weeks!
